Civil War Encampment at Glenview History Center

The Glenview History Center will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War on the grounds of our historic house museum, which was built in 1864! It all happens this Labor Day weekend Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at 1121 Waukegan Road, Glenview. Come see a day in the life of a civil war soldier! Watch soldiers pitch tents, sing songs, and fire cannons! Plus, admire ladies in their fine antebellum dresses! Living History – a live reenactment of civil war times! – will be presented by: Sons of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Camp Custer, Sons of the Veterans Reserve, U.S. Signal Corps & Infantry, 1st Michigan Engineers, General George Thomas plus a traveling Civil War Museum.
