Bear Birthday Bash – 100!

Sunday, September 17, 2017 Glenview will be celebrating the one hundredth anniversary of the Jackman Bear at the Gazebo in Jackman Park. There will be entertainment, speeches and refreshments. This free celebration will take place from 1:30-2:30 pm. Please bring lawn chairs or a blanket if you wish to sit down! The celebration will be moved to the Community Room in the Glenview Public Library in case of rain.

Learn all about the US Marine Corps Equipment In The Great War! Sunday, August 13th!

Come hear living historian Christopher Allen Irelan discuss Marine Corps and their equipment in the Great War. He will bring some authentic equipment with him for us to see!

Where:  The Hibbard Library at The Glenview History Center

“Jackie O.” Luncheon/Tea

Leslie Goddard will portray the former First Lady, “Jacqueline Kennedy” at a luncheon to be held at the Chateau Ritz in Niles, Illinois. Leslie is renowned for her history lectures and living history portrayals. Leslie will share the story of Jackie’s White House years, a recount of her husband’s death and how she began a new life for herself and her children. Reserve your place today!

Admission tickets must be purchased by March 11th and tickets will be held at the door. Make checks payable to Glenview History Center and send them along with your information as shown on the form below to 1121 Waukegan Rd, Glenview IL 60025!
